Reverend Gnome

Today, we decided to make a trip to the National Cathedral. Contrary to popular belief, it is actually NOT a catholic church, rather an Episcopalian Church. The towering towers and deep crypts offer an eerie and unique experience in the nations capitol. Afterward we went out front and played in the grass.

I have no idea why this was there.

In one of the towers.

A chapel in the basement

The corridor of the main hall.

A really cool house on our way home.

Awesome photos!!! Keep it up. Probably one of your better days of shooting. I like the tower framed in.

Found online: "In 1965, the officers and men of Guantanamo Bay Naval Base donated the gray, rectangular stone to the cathedral, which was then under construction. The gift was in appreciation for a visit in July 1964 from the dean of the cathedral.

Of course, back then, Guantanamo Bay didn’t have the unfortunate associations it does now, and those five letters wouldn’t have seemed quite so jarring in that sacred setting. "

Thanks Clark! That would make sense, we could not figure out why in the world that was in there. Only thing we could think of was maybe it was some kind of biblical name... lol Thanks Dude!
