George Washington and the Gnome

We had a wonderful day today at Mt. Vernon, the home of our first President George Washington. After a 45 minute Metro ride and a 30 minute Bus ride, we finally arrived at the famous plantation that belonged to our first commander in chief. It was very neat to see how he arranged his house and property to accommodate his livelihood, many hobbies, and family on his families gifted property. He designed, built, and laid out all of the buildings on his property, the landscaping, and the farming aspects to make for a perfect and flawless layout. Our day trip to Virginia was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about our nations foundation.

Nice shots. I have never been to Mount Vernon but it sure is nice to see it. Maybe someday we will get there.
